I keep having this dream, that me, my wife and two kids move into this big victorian house. but theres a problem in the basement. theres flowing water, and i cant stop it. and everytime i go down there there is a witch that lives behind a locked door, and she is scary and evil. so i am too scared to go down there and investigate or make the repairs
Dreams about houses often represent the self or the dreamer’s life. In your dream, the Victorian house likely symbolizes your family life, including your wife and children, as well as your personal history and emotional state.
The flowing water in the basement can represent underlying emotions or issues that you may feel are out of control. Basements often represent areas of the unconscious or feelings that have been repressed. The fact that you can't stop the water may highlight feelings of helplessness regarding certain emotional situations or challenges in your life, particularly those involving your family.
The presence of the witch living behind a locked door suggests there are fears or anxieties that you’re avoiding or not confronting directly. The witch, often a symbol of fear, negativity, or the unknown, could represent feelings of dread associated with addressing these emotional or familial issues. The locked door signifies something deep within you that you are not ready to confront.
Overall, this dream may be urging you to face these underlying issues. It might be a good time to explore any emotions you’ve been ignoring or problems you’ve been hesitant to address within your family dynamic. Confronting these fears may lead to healing and resolution, not just for you but also for your family unit. Consider what in your waking life might resonate with these themes and how you can gradually approach resolving them.
